Our next wool working class will be talking soap and felting soap. Mark your calendars for April 26th at 6pm. We are teaming up with the Draper Mercantile (www.drapermerc.com, 3054 Greenbriar Rd, Draper, VA 24324), we are hoping the venue will provide easy travel access as it is very close to I81 and I77.
Come make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift or gift for yourself. Kids, as always, are welcome.
What you will need:
– bring a bar or two of soap of your choice
– if you have wool roving, bring it – we are talking to members who create roving to see if we can have some for sale and help promote their business
– gloves if you wish (we’ll be working in water for 15-20 minutes)
No cost for members, $10 for non-members
We’ll have goat milk soap made by a member available for sale as well.
Bring your soap questions and we’ll talk about what you should know about making homemade goat or sheep milk soap as well as other soaps. Felted soap is a great natural exfoliator and since the wool resists bacteria, you have your soap and washcloth all in one handy-dandy combo. The covering around the soap helps prolong the life of the bar of soap – so it lasts longer! Felted soap is also a lot easier to hold than a slippery bar of soap.
